On Oct. 26 Westfield State Dance team took on the Rays of Hope of Walk in Springfield, MA. The team completed the two mile walk to raise awareness for breast cancer.
The team dances in the walk every year for the coach’s friend who had breast cancer. Their participation also helps support her and her charity by wearing “Fight like a girl” long-sleeve shirts.
Unfortunately, because of the rain, they could not dance this year. However, the team still participated by walking the route. Throughout the walk, some dancing still occurred and the team continued the fun by singing Christmas songs.
While the team waited for the bus at the end of the walk, they passed the time by dancing to some music hits. This included making a young boy’s day by doing the Macarena with him.
Overall the walk proved an amazing experience for the team to bond and support a cause that they care about.
