Battle of the QBs: Brady Wins Out

The shorthanded Patriots came up victorious once again, defeating the Green Bay Packers 31 to 17 on Sunday night. Although the quarterback position was on display from both Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, Rodgers could not get it done when it came to crunch time.

Through three quarters of play, it seemed we were in store for another 2 minute drill from either quarterback, as the score was even at 17 to 17. However on the first play of the fourth quarter, the Patriots defense recovered a massive fumble. Packers running back Aaron Jones fumbled at the patriots 30-yard line, halting a driving Aaron Rodgers. From this point on, it was all Patriots.

Stand out players for the Pats on Sunday night include wide receiver Josh Gordon, and running back James White, and utility man Cordarrelle Patterson. Gordon finally had his breakout game as a patriot on the biggest stage. He caught the ball 5 times for 130-yards and a game sealing touchdown.

As for the backfield without Sony Michel, it seems Patterson has become quite comfortable running the ball. His big frame and explosive speed give the Patriots another threat looking forward. He was able to run for 61 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown. And for James White, arguably the most talented player on the roster, he continues to thrive. White rushed 12 times for 31-yards and a touchdown, while catching the ball 6 times for 72-yards.

Next in line for the Pats are the Tennessee Titans. Will Malcolm Butler and Dion Lewis play their hearts out against their old buds, or will Brady continue his tour of excellence?  I’ll take Brady per usual.
