10,000 Hours

Dan and Shay are an iconic country duo that everyone seems to have fallen in love with over the past year. Their hit songs like “How no to” and “Speechless” will make you cry or yell at the top of your lungs. They have been really busy on their own tour, then went on another one with Florida Georgia Line over this past summer. I have been anxiously waiting for new music and the day finally came with a little twist.

On October 4, 2019, Dan and Shay released a song with Justin Bieber called 10,000 hours. Yes, you heard me right, Justin Bieber. The guy who sang “Baby” and sings pop music. At first I was very skeptical of this song. Justin plus country, that is going to sound so cheesy. But boy I was wrong.

The song exceeded my expectations on a whole new level. Justin is an asset to the band and their voices sound amazing together. The song is so upbeat and you can tell the lyrics were from all of their hearts. It talks about how the guys would take all the time in the world to get to know their wives that they’re completely in love with. This song displays how everyone in a relationship should be treated. Seeing Justin sing this song shows how he has transformed into a real man from all of his hardships over the years.

The director, P. Tracy, had a beautiful vision for this music video. The home videos of all the married couples makes it very heartwarming to watch. Seeing all of them just hanging around having fun shows that love does not need to be about gifts or being displayed all over the world. It shows that love is an irreplaceable bond between two people. Also, the simplicity of the flowers in the background makes everything so beautiful. This new song and video gives me high hopes of an amazing album in the future. Maybe even a live performance of this song.
