On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics improved to (5-1) on the season with a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics won 119 to 113 in a closer than previously expected game. The Cavaliers move to (2-5) after this loss, led by their two young guards who have struggled this season. The Celtics relied heavily on their star power to lead them in scoring. They are still nursing injuries to both Jaylen Brown and Enes Kanter.

This was an important game for Gordon Hayward. In the same building he broke his leg in just seasons ago, he scored 39 points on just twenty shot attempts. He added seven rebounds and eight assists on top of his scoring. This was arguably the best performance of Hayward’s career. After his long recovery, Hayward is finally able to show that he is worth the max contract he was given.

Aside from Haywards performance, the Celtics continue to get great production from Kemba Walker. Walker was known for his scoring and playmaking ability before he signed in Boston. Since he joined the team, he has shown some real upside as a defender and rebounder. He scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. A great game for an undersized guard

Carsen Edwards had struggled to find his shot in the early part of the season. That changed on Tuesday. Edwards scored 13 points off the bench going three for four from three-point range. He showed in the preseason that he can be a legit bench scorer in the NBA. He got off to a cold start but looks to use this game as a mold for what he can do in the league.

The Celtics have yet to lose since opening night against Philadelphia. They have gone (5-0) since then. The Celtics look to improve to (6-1) on Thursday night against the Charlotte Hornets. Kemba Walker gets to play in Charlotte for the first time as a visitor. The Celtics will also play against Terry Rozier who spent the last four seasons in Boston. This game is sure to have some added motivation due to multiple players going against their former teams.
