Celtics Win Tenth in a Row

It wasn’t pretty, but the Boston Celtics took down the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. The 105-100 win was good start to a six game west coast trip.

The Celtics got off to a slow start in the beginning of the game. Golden State went up by fifteen points in the first half. The Celtics battled back and took the lead at halftime. They outscored the Warriors by ten in the second quarter.

In the second half, the game was very back and forth. It was a competitive game up until there was only twenty seconds left. Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker stepped up late in the game to seal the victory, both hitting clutch shots.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown seemed to be thrown off by the west coast time, as they both struggled to finish their layups in this game. The shots were available, they just couldn’t capitalize. Brown still dropped 22 points, and Tatum scored 24 points. Two of Tatum’s shots came in the late fourth quarter.

Kemba Walker started the game by shooting 1-11 from the field. In the fourth quarter, he shot 5-8 while scoring fourteen points. Walker hit a mid-range jumper with about twenty seconds left in the game to put the C’s up by five.

This team has looked great defensively, as they only allowed one Golden State player to score twenty points. They also forced the Warriors into 19 turnovers. Granted this Warriors team is not very good (2-11), the Celtics should still be happy with the way they played defensively.

The C’s are staying in California for their next game as they take on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday afternoon. Boston looks to continue this win streak and make it eleven in a row. The Kings will be down their starting point guard in De’Aaron Fox due to a sprained ankle.
