Super Bowl 52 Rematch

Super+Bowl+52+Rematch

It is 2019, you are all grown up now. Your life has brought you many hardships but being an average football fan is not one. The New England Patriots are 9-1 on the year with 42-year-old quarterback Tom Brady leading the way, doing what most people believed to be impossible. Brady will truly be remembered as one of the greatest athletes of all time. New England has now had a winning season for 19 consecutive years.

However, any time Tom Brady’s name is mentioned there is another name that follows directly after: Bill Belichick. Belichick’s effect on this game was as impactful as it has been this season. The Patriots secured the win in what felt like a late-season type of contest. The final score read 17-10, Patriots. The only Patriot touchdown came right after Rex Burkhead broke loose on a shuffle pass that went for 30-yards. A couple of plays later, Julian Edelman threw a 15-yard touchdown to Philip Dorsett.

After that touchdown, both teams failed to see the scoreboard again. Both defensive units controlled the pace of the game. With a minute to go and the ball on the Patriots 26-yard line, the Eagles failed to score and tie the game. Carson Wentz nearly connected with Nelson Agholor for a game tying touchdown, but Agholor fell just short of maintaining the ball.

Next week, we are looking at America’s game as the Pats head home to take on the Dallas Cowboys. I see this game as a big chance for the Patriots to get back to their dominant ways as the last month has been disappointing for them as a team, compared to their hot start.
