WESTFIELD, MA—Westfield State University Advanced Public Relations students are launching a campaign, Dunkin for Diapers, to raise money and awareness for Square One’s diaper bank. The campaign will create awareness and collect donations for the organization’s diaper bank which provides diapers and wipes to 1,200 families annually throughout the Pioneer Valley.

The students are hosting two events featuring games and raffles with prizes including a JBL speaker, a Stanley cup, and a Yeti cup. The first event will be Saturday, April 22nd, from 11 am to 5 pm outside of Target at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, MA. A second event will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, from 10 am to 2 pm outside Dunkin’ Donuts at Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave. Westfield, MA

The Instagram-based public awareness campaign will take place via the handle @dunkinfordiaperssquareone and use the hashtags #dunkin4diapers and #squareonediapers

Square One is a nonprofit organization based in Springfield, MA, that provides a range of family-friendly education and support services to local families. Their focus is on providing opportunities for children and families to build the foundation for lifelong learning, to make smart choices, and to grow strong cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically.

Square One is committed to ensuring that children and families have the opportunity to succeed at school, at work, and in life by providing educational programs, family support services, health and fitness resources, and a voice in the community. At the core of everything they do is their belief, confirmed by research, that children who begin learning early become better learners for life.

“This Westfield State Communication Department course partners with a local non-profit each semester to help the community through its civic engagement program,” said Westfield State Adjunct Professor of Communication Suzanne Boniface. “These public relations students use the skills they have acquired from their studies and gain practical experience for their future careers.”

She added that her students’ campaign will awareness of the diaper bank program and will help fund expenses for diapers.
