My freshman year here at Westfield State University is coming to end in just a few short weeks. This year has been an exciting one. I have learned very much about a wide variety of topics. From McCarthyism in my history class to marriage customs around the world in sociology. I would probably never think to learn about either of these topics on my own, but nonetheless it was interesting to learn about them.
I have also had many interesting conversations with my peers about everything from their different majors, to their sports games. I got to eat many delicious meals in the dining hall; my personal favorite is the enchilada casserole.
I have enjoyed learning how to become a more critical thinker and strengthening my writing skills. One of my favorite projects that I did was group project that involved creating a new Emoji. My professors have all been fantastic as well. I also enjoyed writing for The Westfield Voice. Writing on such a public platform is not something I had ever done before, but I loved it, and look forward to doing it more next year! My freshman year was a year full of growth, and I loved much of it. I cannot wait to see what the rest of my Westfield State University career has in store for me!
